Brief history of Oraon (Kurukh)

As like other castes, Oraon has a large history. This history consists of its attitude, religion festival, dance, song, trumpeters etc.The people who are kurukh is called Oraon race. Chotonagpur is situated West Bengal in India. This race has been living for a long time. What is more, some are living in Asam, Bhutan, Nepal, Andamans, Urisa, north state, Middle State, Gujrat and other division as like Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bugra, Rajshahi, Pabna, Serajgonj, Khulna, Dhaka and Sylhet of Bangladesh.Different communities used to live in India sub-continent. But they have been lost their identities.Anthropologist said that four different classes of non-Aryan people lived together in Aryan period. Modern aboriginal is generation of primitive culture and successor of non-Aryans.



Origin of the word Oraon

How to be originated ``Kurukh’’ caste it has different opinions in favor of writers.
According to Dr. Grierson, the people of kurukh spend more than their demand. So the word of the Oraon is used for the meaning of Prodigal. Oraon are straight- forward people. They tell what that is done.
Oraon does their worship by themselves such as Khut God and Danta Katnna ceremony but Social Worships is done by the Pahan people.
Once upon a time, Oraon ran away to Chotonagpur from Rahotas Gor and took shelter from Munda Race. Munda is named from Kurukh to Oraon. On the other hand, the people of Oraon loved to introduce by you as Oraon. They wrote in the land registry paper and national identity card as Oraon.




Language

Mother tongue and culture is a great asset for Oraon like every race. It is the greatest gift for every caste. Every people have a spiritual relation with its own language. After born, people learn to speak from their mother and articulate their feelings, emotion, sorrow and happiness that is called mother tongue. It is really true in favor of aboriginal people, they pray to the God with their language, song and trumpeters.




According to Corneal Dalton, In Dravidian language ``Kurukh’’ means person. Conventionally, Kurukh is appertained of Dravidian word. Beside this Kurukh language, Oraon has a language that is called ``Sadri”.
Most of the people ideated that Kurukh people have been learnt Sadri language from the people of Munda caste when they were in Chotonagpur. The word Kurukh is originated from the king of prehistoric named ``Karakh’’.
Every reader will be remembered that on one could write such as their history that time. That is why, the people of Kurukh had been written their whole events in their own songs.
